The first generation of baby boomers have already hit that mark, but there are still another 15 years left of that generation of people who will be retiring. Thinking about the day when you finally leave your job and move on could be daunting, especially if you are ill prepared for retirement life.

Baby boomers can't rely on Social Security because the government is unsure if they will be able to meet their needs. Many can't rely on their employers because retirement packages aren't what they used to be. So much of how you will live when you retire will come down to you, the baby boomer. The choices you make are going to reflect on your retirement.

There is still time left before you retire and there are ways to ensure it won't be a shock to your system. Follow these simple tips to make the transition easier.

1. Simplify your lifestyle: As you get older, you may learn that are things you need less. The children have graduated college and live on their own and now your three-bedroom house doesn't get the use it once did. You and your family may feel a bit nostalgic about the old house, but you could be wasting money by just sitting on it. Selling it and getting something smaller and easier to maintain is a quick way to boost your savings.
2. Make a plan: Figuring out what you want to do when you retire is just as important as figuring out what you wanted to do when you graduated college. If you go into retirement blindly, you may feel lost and unsure. Look at your options. Maybe there is a career you always wanted to pursue as a part time business. Perhaps there are trips or plans you always wanted to make, but never had the time. Create a plan for retirement so you are never left wondering what you have to do.
3. Start saving money now: Save as much money as you can and create a budget now so that in 10 to 15 years, you aren't wondering where all of your money went. This is important for your retirement. Don't tap into your retirement funds until you are actually retired. You will find out that creating a budget now will benefit you when you are retired because you won't be lost. Talk to a counselor to point you in the right direction. There are many investment and retirement counselors out there to help you fit your needs and lifestyle.
4. Find ways to make money while retired: Once you retire you don't have to sit around the house all day long wondering how to bide your time. There are many people, especially baby boomers, who aren't suited for this kind of lifestyle. Sure, the fishing trips and golfing outings are fun, but you can't do it everyday. There are ways to make money even while you are retired. There are some part time jobs you can consider and different investment accounts you can maintain. There are different after-retirement careers such as writing or Internet-based companies. Look into all of these options before moving into retirement. You will find more and more people are working even while they 'retired.'

Retirement is entirely what you make of it, but it will be easier if you have it planned out. Of course, no plan ever works out right down to the letter, but that's ok. In your retirement plan work in expenses and unexpected occurrences. This will help make any surprises that came your way easier to handle. If you choose to work after you retire, find something that is going to be relaxing. Don't make your retirement years more difficult than your working years.

Abhishek has got some great Baby Boomer Secrets up his sleeve! Aging has become a reality, so they must take steps to improve or maintain good health and slow the aging process.

According to a recent study by Herbal News Magazine, baby boomers born between 1948 and 1953 evaluated their general health more poorly than their elders, based on a similar study conducted in 1992. Perhaps this happened because the Baby Boom generation was generally less physically active than their elders had been, both at home and at work. Less physical activity and poor eating habits have led to many cases of diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure among baby boomers in retirement.

Fortunately, it's not too late for baby boomers to become pro-active in their own physical well-being. These anti-aging and health tips can help.

Use Herbs to Supplement Diet

Herbs have been around since the earth's beginnings and can often be found in seasoning and spices we use, plants, many organic foods, and herbal supplements. With the onslaught of pharmaceutical companies and modern medicine, herb use for anti-aging and good health dwindled for a while. But now, baby boomers are realizing the many benefits of holistic health and that herbs offer an affordable alternative to many prescription or over-the-counter drugs.

Some popular herbs for enhanced health and anti-aging include oregano, alfalfa, wheat germ, Echinacea root, fenugreek, arginine, witch hazel, cinnamon, cardamom, dill, peppermint, thyme, ginseng, ginger, rosemary, black pepper, green tea, cat's claw, and many others. Ginger, for instance, is an antioxidant that helps cleanse the colon, stimulate circulation, and reduce spasms and cramps. It also helps reduce hot flashes and indigestion. Alfalfa detoxifies the body and works as a natural diuretic, hormonal balancer, and cholesterol reducer. Cinnamon enhances the metabolism to help with weight loss, and it is recommended for fungal infections, digestive problems, diabetes, yeast infection, and other ailments. The list of herbs available today goes on and on.

Baby boomers in retirement can see a holistic doctor or one that specializes in homeopathy to discover herbs or alternative medicines that will work best for them.

Natural Healing

Another way baby boomers can improve health and prolong the aging process is through natural methods and remedies for healing. The "ancients" often turned to natural remedies for healing because they didn't have a doctor's office or local hospital nearby. Today, many people turn to drugs, which only treat the symptoms, not the problem. Though some diseases and sicknesses do require pharmaceutical drugs, there are many conditions that could possibly be healed naturally. Natural healing is available for many ailments including colds and congestion, back or neck pain, stress and tension, headaches, circulatory problems, and others.

There are several natural healing methods. Acupuncture is a Chinese therapy in which fine needles are used to unblock energy in the body so the healing process can take place naturally. Chiropractic methods include re-aligning or adjusting skeletal systems in the body to help the body release blockages and heal itself. Cranial sacral is the process of adjusting or aligning the bones of the skull to help with headaches, chronic pain, joint syndrome, or injuries to the head or spine. Massaging is a natural healing method in which the hands are used to gently release stress and tension through motion and pressure on certain muscles. Other natural healing methods include Rolfing, Shiatsu, reflexology, and the healing touch.

Choose All-Natural Beauty Products over Chemically-Based Products

Chemically-based beauty products might work wonders at enhancing beauty for now, but long-term use can actually speed up the aging process. Some products that promise beauty might actually dry or damage the skin, damage hair, and cause pre-mature wrinkles. Luckily, there are many organic beauty products available in lotions, shampoos, make-up, bath oils, and soaps to help skin stay beautiful and to reduce signs of aging. These are made of natural ingredients instead of dangerous toxins that can be absorbed into the body through the skin.

Physical Activity, Healthy Eating, and Relaxation

Three other key factors to good health for baby boomers are physical activity, healthy eating, and relaxation. Baby boomers in retirement can still be active doing the things they love such as walking or jogging, riding a bike, gardening, traveling and sight-seeing. Also, they can eat healthier by choosing foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals. Finding a way to relax each day is also important for good health. A soothing bath in natural bath oil, reading a book, spending time outdoors on a swing... all these offer time to relax and clear the mind of the day's stressful activities.

These methods have helped many people, but a doctor should be seen with any serious illness. Herbs and alternative medicines are not automatic cure-alls, but are meant to enhance health and help the body heal itself of minor illnesses.

Baby boomers in retirement don't have to stand by and watch their health go downhill. The Internet is a great resource to get started and research different herbs and their health benefits. It's time to take action with these natural health and anti-aging tips!

Chris Robertson is an author of Majon International, one of the worlds MOST popular internet marketing companies on the web. Personally I think casting predictions based on a set of cards is a load of bull, and the better way to go about it would be basing it on cold hard facts. Where do you see yourself when you reach the retirement age? Or what do you do when the retirement age catches up with you (huh?)? Well definitely nobody would like to find themselves looking for another job that caters for old farts, but living a care-free life of bliss and relaxation.

There'd be no need for to drag yourself out of bed every Monday to Friday morning to work long hours and having a boss to answer to, that is if you plan for things to be that way. You'd be "drinking" from a pool of money that's constantly refilled daily to satisfy all your needs and wants - the best part is you don't have to do anything to keep the cash from coming in (financial freedom). You, yes you old man, can make that very dream reality. It's what we call early retirement planning; this is where you plan out the "steps" you'll take to keep your passive income flowing constant and large, how? Simple - we all know that the pension plan as provided by your company or employer will sure as hell not be enough to put the ideas you've got into motion, that's why you need to do something more.

One thing you can do is have planned savings, where you set aside a certain percentage of your income into this account. You may consider putting up an IRA, or Individual Retirement Account, why? Because this account kicks ass! The deposits you make here are tax-free, and is only taxed when you pull out the amount you put in, but is really low considering it's under the "lower income category" - try finding out more about the terms and conditions of putting one up (there's an article all about it on this site). Next thing you can do to keep the cash flow coming strong would be to invest your money into "medians" that are safe, and guaranteed to give favorable interest.

If you have no idea as to where on earth to invest, because you're that ignorant or really old, don't worry: there are investment consultants everywhere. Hold on, who are these guys anyway? If the terms "investment" and "consultant" weren't clue enough, this is the guy you go to when you don't where to invest your money. From there they'll be sharing with you their professionals insights on the matter, and suggest the best places for you to be pooling your dough. With this guy you'll be able to find out the schemes of the different organizations into the retirement home business.

You can also map out what you want to be happening in your financial future with the help of a Retirement Planning Calculator. When the master plan has been created, and you know exactly what you need to do, stick with it. Playing things smart here will guarantee a good life for you and your spouse when you reach the retirement age or get "phased out."

The author of this article Rick Goldfeller is an underground Financial Analyst who has been successfully running campaigns for several wealthy clients. How strange it can be, but the
answer is - YES. They all started out as home based businesses.
Statistically over half of all U.S. A. businesses are based out of an
owner's home. And U.S.A. is not alone. Because of today's world's financial
situation, more and more people are becoming home based entrepreneurs.
Internet Marketing is the most perspective and growing industry for home
based business owners.
Thousands of people are starting home based business everyday with a hope to
become "become rich over night". You can find hundreds of websites offering
to show the secret ways to millions of dollars. And you can put them into
your pocket doing nothing, if you pay a little fee. You must be very
careful, making decisions to accept offers online. Internet can take out
your money, but it can also give you fantastic opportunities to make extra
money, or even reach wealthy living and quit your day job. There are a lot
of companies that offer really good opportunities and support. One thing you
must understand clearly - there are NO "become rich overnight" systems. Home
based internet business is the same business, and needs time, money and your
energy. It can be much rewarded, and it will be very challenging.
That's why before starting you must answer some very important questions:
.	Why do you want to start home based business?
.	What is motivating you?
.	What will motivates you in your way when some obstacles will appear?
.	Will your family support you? Will they understand your dreams?
.	What are your dreams?
.	What are your goals?
.	Are you disciplined?
.	Are you willing to commit long hours to make your business work?
.	Are you organised?
.	Can you manage your time?
.	Do you have knowledge and skills?
.	Do you like to make your own decisions?
.	How much money can you put into your business?
.	What kind of business you want to do?
If you know what you want, but have no experience in business, there is one
more VERY important question to you:Do you have a mentor (a successful
entrepreneur who has a proven business history) who can take you by hand and
show you step-by-step way, and support you through your journey that you can
go safe and relaxed to your success? The best way is to find a company or
system which provides you with professionally created website and 24/7
support in all your needs, if you choose internet business and have no idea
how it works.Follow the instructions and you will have successful business,
because they already made a research about the target market, what products
to sell better and how to sell. You will save a lot of your time and money.
They have skills and knowledge that you don't have yet. So you can have
possibility to learn and earn money at the same time.Make a research. Find a
good mentor, who is ready to help others to succeed and put all your energy
into your business. And you will be successful! "The road to success lies in
two simple principles: find what it is that interests you and that you can
do well, and when you find it, put your soul into it - every bit of energy
and ambition and naturally ability that you have." John
D.Rockefeller III
Loreta Narbutiene is owner of Day-Night-Profits.com and writes on a variety
of subjects. To learn more about starting your own home based business
earning 6 streams of income visit http://www.Day-Night-Profits.com.

All About Earning Cash Online

By Tony Forster
You have probably heard all of the articles about making money online. The
media is filled with tales of those lucky people who have become
multi-millionaires with a few clicks of the mouse and still more articles
about entrepreneurs using the internet to generate a sustained and
well-established business.
Can it happen for you? If you've have been pondering about making money
online, here are some tricks of the trade and tips that can help you begin
on your path to internet home business success. When it comes to internet,
there is a lot of bad ideas out there you have to sort through and a lot of
probability for falling victim to a scam. A lot of websites market internet
business opportunities that require or request a large upfront investment
from you, and these are usually to be stayed away from.
Stay away from any online business opportunity that sets you up and asks you
to mass email people for payment or that asks you to make a website to work
to get others to buy into a business project rather than buying a specific
item. These internet scams are just pyramid scams, and they're not a ethical
(or in some cases, legal) way to make money online. One of the best ways to
search about making money online is to seek the advice of others who have
done it. Do a little research and question asking and see how some online
businesses you're knowledgeable of with have set up their operations or
website, or seek out some online business magazines that have articles with
internet entrepreneurs business people. See what you can learn procure from
them and from their fumbles.
If you know anyone who does business online on the internet, see what advice
they have to provide you. Since so many business people have been successful
at this online business thing by trial and making mistakes and fixing them
at this point, you can learn from their articles what they learned the hard
way and avoid some of the same bumps without making the same mistakes in the
world.
Apart from seeing the technological parts of doing business online and
understanding some unique logistics issues, like shipping or mailing to all
of your consumers instead of having a retail site if you're selling a item,
online advertising marketing, and the ins and outs of online writing
optimizing, some parts of online commerce or selling are not so different
from starting beginning a business in the real world. You should settle opt
on a business that interests you you like and that you have some specific
knowledge to bring to the table provide. LeRoy
Free Spyware, Hijackers, Adware, Dialers, or Keyloggers: Get free protection
from all of them! Have you ever had the experience of finding programs
installed in your computer without your knowledge? What about being annoyed
by numerous popup advertisements? How about your start page or home page
changing all the time? What about your search results suddenly changing or
your computer dialing out? Chances are you have been a victim of spyware,
hijackers, adware, dialers, or keyloggers.
Terms Defined Let's take a look at some of these computer menaces.
Spyware - This is an infectious program installed surreptitiously in the
computer system and supplies the software writer or the website which
installed it confidential information about the user, may it be the websites
you often visit, your activities in the computer, or even your password and
credit card number. It can get into your computer in the form of a software
virus or as a consequence of installing a program.
Hijackers - Sometimes called hijackware, this program changes your
computer's browser settings in such a way that you are brought to web sites
that you had no intention of looking into in the first place. These
hijackers are often start pages and search pages to customers who pay for
the service because of the traffic generated by them. This malware may slow
your computer and cause your browser to crash.
Adware - This is a program designed to display advertisements on your
personal computer. And we are not talking about your normal advertisement
every time you visit a website. Adware uses popup ad windows or even voice
messages that are not by any means connected to the websites that you often
visit.
Dialers - These are programs installed into your computer system, which may
rake you thousands of dollars in phone bill. A web dialer can be installed
like a virus, Trojan, or any other malicious code into your computer system
through e-mail attachments or downloaded software. Once installed, it will
dial charge lines even when the user is not viewing a pay-per-view web site.
Charges may range from a few pennies to dollars per minute.
Keyloggers - Also known as keystroke loggers, keyloggers record your
keystrokes in the computer (more sophisticated types may even capture screen
shots) and will log or report them to the individual who installed them.
Some companies use the commercial type to monitor employee resource use or
monitor corporate spies. Law enforcement agencies may also use keyloggers
to collect evidence against suspected criminals. However, some may use
these keystroke loggers to spy on their co-workers and bosses. Protection
Where do we get protection from these computer security threats? What
should we look for a free spyware and what-have-you removal system?
There are a few things that we can take into consideration before we
download a free spyware remover from the Internet:
1. A good spyware remover should provide effective protection against the
software infections mentioned above (since they are the main software
infections that give away confidential details about the user and decreases
the efficiency of your computer), as well as all other malicious software
invented by man if possible.
2. Your free spyware remover should come with cleaners so that you'll be
able to detect spyware online. Free spyware cleaner programs also remove
spyware programs that are running currently in your computer. After
installing your free spyware remover, download the current anti-virus
definitions available in the Internet. You may use two or more to
guarantee that all malware threats are discovered and removed quickly.
Also, you may want to have a full system scan every week. Make sure that
your security program and anti-virus are always enabled to scan all e-mails,
may they be incoming or outgoing.
What are you waiting for? Clear your computer now of malicious software and
programs.
Carl R. LeRoy is the owner of Home Based Business Ideas and writes on a
variety of subjects. Most are simply trying to sale you something; web site, advertising, etc. The important thing is simply viigilance. Everyday a great many individuals discover the Internet, and most of those are taken on the financial roller coaster. They spend hundreds, if not thousands, being taken on a "ride".
Most if not all could have been avoided if they had just taken a little time to investigate the businesses they were shelling out their hard earned money too.But to Create Income Online is not an impossibility, not at all, there are a great number of people, more every year, earning incredible sums of money online through credible online sources.
There are many Creative Income Sources Online and it is not necessary to buy into a program. However, there are some great programs out there, and I would not want to suggest they are all scams, but it is important that you do your due diligence in researching any online Income Opportunity. You Should be looking for a business that has been on the Internet for a minimum
of three years, among other things, and is easily researched. It is imperative that the possible income for any business venture you take on will far exceed any money you invest in it.We call this "ROI". "Return on Investment". I should point out that your time is also considered an
investment. And, your "ROI" should reflect this "investment" as well.

Another important consideration, while doing your research is "Will I enjoy doing this?" The reason this is an important factor is because there is "no" such thing as an automated business.

Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise, is reaching for your wallet. Portions of a business to Create Income Online can, and should, be automated. But the true online marketer, that makes money online, does so through hours of tiring work online to build their business. It simply is not feasible to assume someone will do all the work for you.But there is a rainbow!

Once you have "established" your online "presence", your business will grow exponentially and, in effect, it will take on a life of its own. Some saying this is the automation others have spoke on. Yet, this is not automatic. It takes work to get here and you must, at least, set up a respectable maintenance program, or your business will start to falter, and you will lose your prresence". What I have failed to mention is that once your business starts to take off, you get so excited that the last thing you want to do is to turn away from it. You find yourself "jumping" out of bed in the mornings, and the last thing you do at night, check with anxious anticipation of the fruits of your labor. As I personally review every business opportunity on my own web site, I would recommend that everyone do the same.Creating Income Online is NOT difficult, but everyone should be vigilant in choosing their business.

Daniel Ambrose is sincere in all his endeavors and owns
http://www.DanielsCreativeIncomeSite.com Where you can sign up for his free newsletter a $147.00 value.

The Stone Evans interview is Real Money-Maker

By Mbark Ballahi
I know you are probably very busy today so I will be brief ... In fact, the opportunities for surfing the World Wide Web and finding
work is becoming more and more popular---especially in this economic
downturn.
Here's why. The traditional places that companies placed job
listings---local newspapers---are losing money because the new generation
simply doesn't pick up a newspaper to find out the latest facts about
anything. They go online. And that's where most people go to find jobs and
where employers go to find employees.
Smart employers, particularly those in high-tech businesses, know where to
find skilled workers---they find them online.
Job listings are popping up all over the web. In fact, job listings are
getting so prevalent, sites are focusing on one type of job. For example,
there are many sites geared to listing jobs for website designers and other
sites dedicated to freelance writers. Still others look for graphic
designers. One site has job listings for computer software testers. If you
can think of it, chances are you'll be able to find a job listing site about
it.
In addition to job-specific sites, there are sites that list, under various
headings, nearly every job under the sun.
While some of these jobs do require employees to work from an office, many
allow workers to do the job from home, particularly freelance type
positions. In addition, many companies are hiring people to work from their
home who traditionally worked in call centers.
Though some legitimate sites do require you to pay a fee to conduct a job
search (they promise to screen the jobs to make certain they are
legitimate), most are free. In fact, some charge a fee then direct you to
job listings that you could have found on your own for free.
When you start looking for a job online, you're likely to come across some
sites that you may immediately be suspect of. Everyone has seen the Make
Cash Filling Out Survey sites and no doubt thought it was a scam. It's one
of those things that does sound too good to be true, and in some ways it is.
You can actually get a real job filling out surveys, but chances are the
money you earn will supplement your income, and is probably not something
you can retire on.
Other opportunities involve mulit-level marketing schemes, which require a
small investment to sell a product. The real money comes when you recruit
others to sell the product via your website. If you do consider this
opportunity, make certain that the focus of this job is to sell the
company's product, not to simply recruit more people. That's where the line
between MLM, a legitimate business, and a pyramid scheme, which is illegal,
becomes
Finding a real job online has never been easier. If you can Google it, you
can find a real job listing for it. The real beauty is that many of these
jobs are home-based opportunities that will not require you to relocate. So
you can find a job working for a company in California and stay home in
Texas. http://www.MoneyAG34.com/pips.html
Aramis Gil is owner of www.moneyAG34.com and writes on a variety of
subjects. You Must Have Your Own Website

By Mona Abdulla
In this day and age, if you don't have your own website for your business,
it's almost as if you do not exist.
Recent studies have found that people are more likely to look up a business
online than in the Yellow Pages or other traditional "old-school" ways. If
someone searches for your business and they don't find you, chances are they
will turn to a business they do find and you will lose customers.
You pay a lot of money on traditional advertising for a huge number of
people even though very few of them may be interested in your products.
Internet advertising is different, it is targeted. Everyone who visits your
web site is there because he has specific interest in your product or
service.
Getting and building a website has become much easier than it used to be. In
fact, if all you need is a simple website where people can get basic
information about your product and contact information, you have no excuse
for not building a website yourself.
Many options exist online for the novice to put together a
professional-looking website. They are inexpensive and easy to use.
The first thing you have to do is come up with a domain name for your
website. That's what people will type into the address bar to find you. Come
up with something that is easy to remember. Don't be too cute; you want
people to find you and know how to spell your website name. Make sure it
relates to your business.
Go to any domain search and type in the possibilities; it'll tell you
whether it's available or not.
Building your website can be easier than coming up with a name for it---once
you know exactly what you want your website to do.
How many pages do you want and what will each page need? Do you want people
to be able to purchase something from your website?
You must consider these things before you begin building your website. Once
you know what you want and need on your website, then you can go look for
sites that can offer you everything you want. Don't opt for the free hosting
sites; you want your site to be free of annoying popups and banners that are
not related to your business.
Look for the free website development sites allow you to develop a website,
then charge a nominal web hosting fee. These websites are customizable, down
to text and pictures and are extremely simple to put together. The websites
can have blog links or Paypal payment choices and most have hundreds of
layout choices so you can avoid having your website look like your
competitors'.
You also can have the option of setting up an on-line store, but that will
likely cost an addition monthly fee, usually starting at less than $10 per
month. One site, for example, charges $10 per month to sell up to 500 items.
And if you really don't trust yourself to make your own website, then by all
means, hire someone to do it for you.
Just remember, if you have a business and you want people to know you are
out there, get on the web.
I've developed an interest in online based businesses long while ago. I
learnt from experience that the best programs are the ones that evolves
around you & your interest as a customer.
To see an outstanding example of this; please visit:
http://www.automatednotes.com/pips.html

21st Century Retirement Plan - Start a Retirement Internet Business and a 401k

Bill McCarthy

Retirement is probably the last thing that comes to the mind of a young family who is trying to survive in this current economic environment. But this article is not just about planning for early retirement by building an internet business. It is all so about building a new second career which could position you to weather a future economic storm.

This message is for the young adults who have suddenly realized that they have to start thinking and planning for retirement (forced or otherwise). This realization usually comes about for most after they have settled into a lifestyle which includes a family, a career, and the realization that they have to have a plan beyond working at a job.

Some will get financial advice and begin to start saving using current financial products like IRA's, 401k's etc. This is what I call the traditional retirement planning method. Others will invest in stocks, options, bonds, etc. and run their own self directed accounts. But many will do nothing and spend all their income on day-day expenses saying "I'll start saving next year." Today I would like to propose a different approach to Retirement Planning. It is a two pronged approach which includes the following:

Traditional - save 5-10% of your gross salary using IRA's, 401k's etc.
Invest in building an Internet business for retirement

The traditional approach is making sure you are putting away a fixed amount each paycheck, which is invested for your future. The higher percentage you save the better. You might be saying "But I need that money for day -day expenses". In the beginning that may be true but change your lifestyle to find the money. Believe me it will be well worth it and after you have done it for a few months you won't miss it. Ok, let's do a little dreaming. Supposing you followed the recommendation above and you religiously saved 10% of your income starting at aged 30. As the years went by your salary grew and your retirement investments continued to grow as well. You also started your own internet business at the same time. You invested your time and money building your internet business while holding a full time job and raising a family. Was it hard? "You bet it was" But you rationalized it as continuing your education by going to school at night. You struggled for 4-5 years but during that time you became proficient and in some areas you even became an expert in operating an online business. The business grew to the point where your salary was greater than the salary from your job. Is this a fantasy, no. Is it possible, absolutely. Now think about the possibilities at this point. Here are just a few.

· You could decide to work your business full time
· You could continue to grow your business and increase your wealth
· You wouldn't have to worry about your retirement income because your business provides a continuous cash flow 24/7.
· Your income is not dependent on a job that is dependent on someone else's business There are many other possibilities; you just have to be open to them.

New business opportunities on the internet are being identified every month and once you have the knowledge and expertise you will be in a position to take advantage of them because you invested in your future five years earlier. A word of caution, I have been talking about a successful internet retirement business. In order to be successful you need a comprehensive understanding of the business and it requires an investment in the business and in yourself.

Wouldn't you rather build your own home internet business as opposed to working and depending on the "Man" for the rest of your life...

Bill McCarthy invites you to get more information about Building Your Own Retirement Internet Business.

Go to my blog http://www.myretirementbusiness.com/blog or web site http://www.wealthgrowthsystem.com

(c) Copyright - Bill McCarthy. Often we're
told when first entering the MLM arena, is to approach your "Warm" market.
Meaning of course your family, friends, business associates or anyone else
you might know of off hand. While this may seem at first to be a good idea
and that most of your friends would be receptive to whatever you have to
offer, this is rarely the case. Soon enough, your calls will go unanswered
and your friends will be hesitant to talk to you.
In Multi-level marketing it's all about the sale. If you don't sell product
than you don't make money. It's that simple. On the other hand, can you
afford to lose your friends? Every time they see you walking towards them,
will they say "Oh no.... Not another sales pitch"! Often these companies
will ask you to make a list of all your friends, family and acquaintances
and then you're supposed to contact each and every one of them to present
you product or service. For most people this can be a very uncomfortable
process and honestly can dissolve many relationships or friendships. Most
companies even offer a special script to use on your friends and family.
Even though in reality, you might be doing them a favor by offering them an
opportunity to start a business and earn a residual income, in most cases
this fact is overlooked. Your friends don't look at it this way.
When choosing a company to work with or be an affiliate of, this might be an
important factor to consider. You can make money with MLM marketing but at
what cost and will it be worth it. Too often, your family and friends end
up resenting you. They think you're crazy for doing this and it's not easy
finding friends that will endure all the parties and presentations. That's
why the name of this article mentions the NFL club. (No Friends Left)
There are a few people that don't have a problem with this and if you're one
of that select few, all I have to say is "God Bless You". But for the rest
of us out there, it's hard to approach friends and neighbors on a regular
basis. If I think about it, it really shouldn't be but I think in modern
society we've sort of lost touch with each other. Everything nowadays is
done by cell phone, by email, or even by Text Messaging. We've sort of
built a wall around ourselves in order to maintain out privacy. We've lost a
lot of that Personal contact that I feel is so important.
There are companies out there that provide phenomenal services or products
that don't necessarily require you to contact your "Warm" list. If you do
your homework you can find them. One of the more modern ways to market a
product or service is through what is referred to as Affiliate Marketing.
Companies pay you to market their URL or affiliate links and then you get
paid a commission. This is one of the advantages of working with a company
on the Internet. You'll be able to contact a large number of people without
having that added pressure of confrontation.
As with any Home Based venture these are some of the questions you need to
ask yourself. Not everyone is suited for every opportunity out there. Be
honest with yourself and ask yourself what type of marketing or approach
will be best suited for me. Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect
for the industry and I definitely think I've grown as a person from it. I
just wanted to provide some "Food for Thought" to anyone making the choice
of what Home Based Business is best suited for them.
http://whoismarcabbink.com

Best Home Based Business Opportunities

By Abdel Halim Elshawadfy
The online world has changed life in many ways for all, and one of the
greatest benefits some people or individuals have gotten from the online
sites is that they can get their livings or even make a wealth by working
from their own home or working out of their home. Your scrap is
someone else's goldmine, and there are individuals out there willing to pay
- often extra money - for just about anything. Using web auction sites might
seem like a doubtful choice for best home based business Company after all,
what happens when you've wiped out the attic? The fact is that many
individuals are able to keep these groups of companies going without a
problem difficulty in two ways systems.
First to begin with, some people individuals expand their service so they
trade belongings for other people. Just nearly everyone has something with
value selling trading, though even if many individuals can't be concerned
going through the selling trading process on their own with their
belongings. Do it for them, keep a commissions based on the bid price and
observe your company grow. Another option alternative is to sell trade other
items stuff via these sites, basically primarily setting up an online store.
Do you craft jewelry or have possess some other sort of talent you could
sell? Each of these categories of sites are always
in high demand on the web, and you can turn them into feasible companies
with a little bit of hard work. P.S However is that the most excellent
online home based business company is the one that uses skills and that you
can be satisfied running like companies outside in normal world, following
trends is never a good idea. Instead, figure out what your knowledge and
interests are and start your company idea around those. More online shoppers each and every year and nearly every company willing to drop ship (ship orders to any address requested even if it is not the original buyers address).
This opens so many doors.Creating IncomeYes, a number of those doors can begin creating income for those willing to show some initiative. There are many websites out there that can help you get your start. But it is important that you do your due diligence and check them out with the BBB (Better Business Bureau).Creative Income is a very real possibility online
these days and those that have found, and stayed, with the better online sites have truly learned what it is to have a creative income online.
But it is important that you are careful. There are many websites that are out there simply to part you from your hard-earned cash.As an affiliate (an individual who creates a gateway/link to another's product/service for a large slice of the sale), has the best of everything if they find the right program(s) to join. They can get for free the very best in training and other tools to help them to achieve their goals of creating income online. There truly is no other way in the world to make so much money with such a small/no initial cost.It really is "possible" to begin creating income within minutes/hours of becoming an affiliate.
For example, you could become the affiliate of some fortune 500 company, or other major wholesaler, where you offer/advertise their products/programs and they will take care of all the shipping/handling, and customer service, and pay you immediately for creating the sale, or the opportunity that lead to the sale. Yes, I said opportunity. Because even if the customer does
not buy immediately, the better companies will continue to do follow-ups, on your behalf, and when a sale occurs you still get paid as if you had just sent the customer. If you really want to become a full time affiliate marketer and earn the money that dreams are made of you should create income streams (more than one affiliation) With numerous income streams there is
absolutely no limit to the income that you can create online.
Daniel Ambrose is the author of Create Income by Creating Income Streams,
and site owner of http://www.DanielsCreativeIncomeSite.com Where you can sign up for a free "Create Income Online NewsLetter.

Create Income You Can Track

By Daniel Ambrose

http://www.danielscreativeincomesite.com/

Create Income You Can TrackFinding a great online income producing business is not as hard as one might think. The important thing is to track your traffic. You need to know where it came from and where it is going. This information is critical to increasing the sales of your online
business.Knowing the answers to some very fundamental questions can dramatically increase your ROI (Return On Investment). There are several tracking sources available. Some free, of course "free" probably means they get some "free" advertising from your site. But free is still a good exchange. They tend to offer great tracking scripts and your ROI is bound to increase due to the relationship.A simple "hits" counter is very basic and misleading. Probably the most important statistics are "page views/visitors". They give two important indications...How many people visit your site and how long they are staying.

If you have 130 visitors and 144 "views", then your visitors are basically reading the first page then leaving. This is an indication that you should update your site's content. You want your visitors to read at least two pages and the longer they stay the better your chance of making a sale.A unique visitor is someone whom has never visited your site before and your tracker will list them as "unique". Should they leave and return at a later date the tracker will not list them as "unique".Page views can be divided by the amount of visitors and it will tell you how interesting your visitors find your site to be.
Obviously if they are viewing just one page your site is failing to hold their attention.Tracking your sales is also important. Everyone should keep clear record of all costs and income involving their online business.Tracking your advertisements will guide you to smarter investments.
If one ad is obviously out performing another, you may wish to increase your use of the stronger one, and possibly make changes to the weaker ad.A common practice known as split-testing your ads will help you identify the best use of your advertising dollar.
Where you either use identical ads sent to different ad sources to see which performs better, or two slightly different ads sent to the same source to discover the better ad.Again, tracking is mandatory to learn where your best investment will get the best ROI. And, split-testing, with "tracking", is a great way to identify which way to go.The tracking programs can offer so
much information. Likely more than you will ever use. But to have the information available is the real key.
Once you start tracking on every facet of your business, that is when your business will really start to take off. Because you create income you can track. The better online businesses will either have tracking built in, or will show you step-by-step how to install the tracking. This is one of the things I look for in a good online business. Not to mention as many built-in automated functions as possible. And, I would definitely suggest that everyone look for businesses online with these features.
Daniel Ambrose is sincere in all his endeavors. According to the U. S. census of 2000, there are around 83 million baby boomers. Now, the baby boomers are between the ages of 42 and 60, a fact indicating the exit of baby boomers from America's workforce.

The generation of baby boomers has sprung from a period of economic prosperity and the joy of the post Second World War years. Perhaps due to the times in which they were born, they have not just reshaped the culture of their country, but also redefined themselves.

Baby boomers have attracted a lot of attention due to their distinct features and outlook on life. They belong to an affluent generation that has had a major impact on the U. S. economy.

What Do Baby Boomers Feel about Retirement?

A large number of surveys and studies have been conducted on baby boomers. The following facts were brought to light by a special investigation conducted to determine the baby boomers' views on retirement.

Baby boomers are looking forward to retirement because it will give them an opportunity to focus on family life and pursue their hobbies and interests. For many of them, retirement is a golden opportunity to pursue another career more suitable to their age and taste.

Baby boomers aim at both professional and personal fulfillment, due to which they focus a lot on preparing and planning for their future. Social security means a lot to them because they utilize to the full the benefits of life and health plans.

Baby boomers are optimistic with a conservative outlook on money and financial matters.

Baby boomers became more successful at the finanical level than their parents. Compared to their parents, they are more likely to work even during their leisure days.

Baby Boomer Impact on U. S. Economy

U. S. economy soared when the baby boomers made their entry into the American workforce. They constituted the major source of labor. Their retirement from the workforce will naturally have a major impact on the country's economy.

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics fortells an acute shortage of labor that has to be given immediate attention. This labor shortage is believed to have an adverse effect on the country's economy.

When baby boomers entered the workforce of American the economy grew at a rate faster than the growth of its population. When the baby boomers retire from the workforce, the growth of American labor force will be much slower, and it will be more difficult to maintain a flourishing economy.

Solutions to America's Labor Problem

The only way for the United States to save its economy is to persuade its current workforce of baby boomers to continue working for a long time. To encourage baby boomers to retire late, companies and organizations can use the following methods:

Raise the retirement age of those who receive social security pension to 67. This will encourage baby boomers to continue working till the age of 66 so that they enjoy the full benefits of their social security pension.

Redefine pension benefits so that people who extend their stay in the workforce will receive more pay. This method will bear more fruit than just raising the age of retirement to 67. It will inspire baby boomers to hold on to their respective positions for longer years.

Baby boomers enjoy preparing for a financially secure retired life. Due to this, the above-mentioned offers will inspire and encourage them to hold their jobs for longer periods of time. Companies as well as baby boomers will enjoy equal benefits if baby boomers extend their stay in the workplace.

Long-term Solutions

Companies are very much aware of the impact caused by retiring baby boomers on the country's economy. They have to prepare solutions to deal with the problems caused by a depleted work force. Organisations and companies that have hired baby boomers must modify their policies to accommodate their senior baby boomer employees. At the same time, they must seek lasting solutions to the problems caused the retirement of senior baby boomers. Learning about the views of baby boomers toward retirement is one of the ways of dealing with the situation.

The only solution to the problem of labor shortage would be the retention of senior workers, correction of gender imbalances at work, hiring of immigrants, and outsourcing work. Several American companies and organizations are planning to do this, and some have already begun to use these solutions.

Abhishek has got some great Baby Boomer Secrets up his sleeve! For certain questions, you might get answers that do not excite you at all. However, some of the questions you ask will have answers that tell you that there might be a possibility for an opportunity to develop.

You note that I use the words "might" and "possibility" here. For an opportunity to exist, we should be able to combine four elements. Without all four, we have only a possibility, nothing more. However, as you get used to viewing the world from four different angles, you will very quickly start to think of all four elements automatically.

It is when you get to that point, that opportunities will just start "popping into your head". It is crucial that you take notes when an answer excites you. Right at that moment, you might think that you will not forget it, but we all forget things, even very important things. Make notes of your thoughts and include any thoughts that you might have about the other three elements. Give your possible opportunity a name, as by doing this you give the opportunity a mental anchor and summarise it to its essence. You will remember it better, and your subconscious mind will work harder to expand it from the essence of the possibility, to a more complete vision of the opportunity.

During the course of the day, use any spare time you might have, to look at your card and ask questions. While travelling in your car (record your thoughts rather than writing them down!), in the elevator and on the escalator, while having a cup of coffee in the canteen. When you are doing things that do not require you to think, use that time to search for opportunities and do that by questioning the whole world around you. Yes, even when you have to go to the bathroom! And remember to jot down all the thoughts you experienced when you get answers that excited you.

Dedicate time; 15 minutes per day should do it, to reflect on your findings and what possible opportunities might arise from it. Think about each of them, and jot down any additional thoughts you might have.

Try and find the "missing three" elements for each answer that you get when asking the questions. A very simple matrix will assist you in trying to find the missing elements - turning them into opportunities for yourself.

You will start off with something like this:

Date: 04 Feb '08
Needs: Computer keyboards, screens and mouse pads need cleaning
Means:?
Method to apply:?
Method to benefit:?
Potential:?
Notes: Saw Johnny's workstation today - looks terrible!

Date: 05 Feb '08
Needs: ?
Means: Old tires
Method to apply: ?
Method to benefit: ?
Potential: ?
Notes: Saw a whole heap of old tires at the scrap yard.

Date: 06 Feb '08
Needs: ?
Means: ?
Method to apply: Carwash used to wash cars.
Method to benefit: ?
Potential: ?
Notes: Drove past carwash and saw how it applied water, soap and mechanical action to wash car.

After a while, when reviewing these entries, you might progress to:

Date: 04 Feb '08

Needs: Computer keyboards, screens and mouse pads needs cleaning.
Means: PC cleaning box with solvent, glass cloth, water and drying chamois.
Method to apply: Provide PC cleaner with box and let him/her clean all PC user's computers.
Method to benefit: Start PC cleaning services and get big business to contract. R15 per PC per month?
Potential: Yes! There are 6 buildings in our area, each with more than a 1000 PC's.
That means R90 000 per month!
Notes: Saw Johnny's workstation today - looks terrible - some keyboard keys seem sticky.

Date: 05 Feb '08
Needs: Mine dumps need stabilization to prevent erosion and pollution.
Means: Old tires.
Method to apply: ?
Method to benefit: Set up "mine dump" stabilization business to sell service.
Potential: ?
Notes: Saw a whole heap of old tires at the scrap yard. Scrap yard will pay me to remove their old tires. Find out what mines would pay to stabilize mine dumps.

Date: 06 Feb '08
Needs: How do fleet owners wash their large trucks?
Means: ?
Method to apply: Carwash used to wash cars.
Method to benefit: ?
Potential: ?
Notes: Drove past carwash and saw how it applied water, soap and mechanical action to wash cars.

Flag all the possible opportunities which you feel comfortable with that might turn into real opportunities. There are a number of ways in which you might like to prioritise the possible opportunities. In the above example, an overall "Potential" was used to prioritise. You might use various prioritising methods such as "Ease of implementation", "Require least capital outlay" or even:"I like this opportunity (scale of 1 to 5)". You decide how you would like to prioritise the opportunities. The method of prioritisation is far less important than the fact that you do prioritise and feel comfortable with how you prioritise.

As your opportunities develop over time, you will quickly realise that opportunities are very abundant to those looking for them. But opportunities alone are not enough! We have to do something with the opportunities.

In the next chapter, we will look at a terrific tool that will help you turn your opportunities into complete and compelling business visions - to get the most from your opportunities.

To find opportunities - look for alternatives, no matter how satisfied you are with a situation. Everything can be improved. Every improvement is an opportunity.

Chapter reminders:

1. Every opportunity has 4 elements:
-Needs
-Means to fulfill the need
-Method to apply the means to fulfill the need
-Method for you to benefit.

2. Get into the habit of looking at things from different angles - each angle one of the elements of an opportunity.

3. Develop opportunities by filling in the blanks!

4. Prioritise the opportunities

http://www.bizwave.co.za

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Thea_Els

Re-Imagining Retirement - Strategies to Help Re-Energize Your Life

John Trauth

When we speak about retirement, we usually refer, consciously or not, to a period of withdrawal. This may be tinged in Technicolor, with images of grandchildren, travel, and other things we dreamed of but didn't have time for during our employment phase, but rarely does the concept include commitment, leveraging our personal resources to impact a world view, or connecting to our community in a more profound way than had previously been envisaged. So, when Jimmy Carter, or George Soros or even Bill Gates demonstrate the impact of wisdom and leverage, we respond to their challenge as a product of prestige (Carter) or money (Gates and Soros). Rarely does it occur to any of us that their retirement world view is an extension of their working life.

Let's explore the subconscious root of our concept of retirement. For many of us, our internal sense of personal energy is connected to a mechanistic idea of the universe. The medieval world saw God as the great clockmaker who wound the universe into action and therefore the world and our actions within were predetermined. This was a powerful image and one which persisted in science well into the 20th century. But the experimentation of one man, Albert Einstein, changed the basic scientific face of this belief system forever. He demonstrated that energy creates energy, that the universe was not mechanical but self-energizing. And that is the most important scientific concept inherited by the 21st century.

But what does that have to do with retirement, and how does science, or nuclear fission or the clockmaker God impact your retirement? Well the simple answer is that how we see retirement and our associations to it are, in part, a response to whether we see our lives as mechanistic (i.e. slowly running out of energy, which includes withdrawal, a narrowing of options and a preordained set of options) or whether we see it as an opportunity to leverage and expand the sum total of everything we have learned and earned up to this moment in our lives

This second option, seeing ourselves as a resource to the world, is psychologically challenging and possibly even frightening. We might associate this to a responsibility that Jimmy Carter or Bill Gates might take on, but not us. But the other option is to think of yourself, your past, and your passions as a moment of assessment: how do you want to be remembered? What are your connections to the world at this phase of your life? Will your legacy focus inward, to family, travel, pleasure, or outward to your community, your country or even to the world at large?

The challenge of this last option, to see ourselves as people at the peak of our wisdom and capacity, carries with it both great opportunity and corresponding responsibility. My interest is to allow us to acknowledge our debt to past concepts, including the mechanical universe and all the limitations that implies, and to encourage choice of another kind. By doing so, we can re-imagine a retirement in which we can potentially enhance and leverage our accumulated resources and operate from that freedom. And in that vision, freed from the constraints of mechanical fatigue, we recognize the renewable source of our own energy, building upon a lifetime of thought and experience, an accumulation of matter ready to create new matter.

John Trauth is co-author of Your Retirement, Your Way (McGraw-Hill, 2007), a step-by-step curriculum which explains the secrets for happiness in retirement and helps readers prepare for the psychological, strategic and financial aspects of this major life transition. Coupled with a very low personal savings rate, this means that many people will only have Social Security and Medicare to rely on in their retirement."

One of the most effective steps Baby Boomers can take to live better on a fixed income is to relocate to an area where the cost of living is less. This can result in dramatic savings without sacrificing their quality of life. In fact, in many cases the quality of life significantly improves.

It is expected that a large number of upcoming Baby Boomer retirees will move to less expensive areas to stretch their meager retirement income. Among the likely actions foreseen are:

• For Boomers that have equity in their current homes, many will invest their sales proceeds rather than purchase a new home in a relocated area.

• More Boomers deciding - or forced - to rent rather than purchase downsized accommodations.

• A good percentage of Boomers will relocate south of the border to countries like Mexico and Costa Rica where a comfortable lifestyle can be maintained on a low fixed income.

Boomers will seek to avoid areas with high housing costs or which are dependent upon expensive fuels for heating and traveling. Inexpensive housing solutions, such as co-ops, prefabricated homes and senior mobile home parks are expected to benefit from this demographic migration.

About the Author

Al Kernek is a Internet marketing consultant and the author, as well as a Baby Boomer. To their parents retirement meant a gold watch, and a comfortable if not affluent life after work, but baby boomers have a different perspective now. They may not be ready to retire financially, but more importantly, they may not want to quit working for mental or emotional reasons.

The AARP reports that 79% of the boomer generation doesn't plan to stop working at age 65. This number is far greater than both the generation before them and the one after. Why is this and what does it mean?

Some will argue that it is because they are not prepared for retirement financially. While this is true to some extent, they are much better prepared than the generations following who don't save much at all and want to retire earlier.

Baby Boomers are concerned about Social Security. They most likely don't have as much to be concerned about as Gen X and Gen Y, but that doesn't mean there is no concern. Social Security started in 1935, and at that time only slightly more than half of workers lived to reach the retirement age of 65.

These days, though, life spans are much longer (boomer's average lifespan may approach 90), so we now have only two workers contributing to the system for every one withdrawing from it. Social Security has been identified by many experts, and I think correctly, as a Ponzi scheme since the day FDR started it in the 30s.

Many people think they withdraw the money they paid in, but this has been shown not to be the case. There really is no Social Security trust fund.

Medicare faces the same demographic challenges as Social Security, but additionally must cope with the rapid expected growth in health care costs. Baby Boomers have reason to worry here as well.

Add to this that Baby Boomers are known for an almost unquenchable desire to look and feel young. They are quite fond of most other creature comforts as well.

Will Baby Boomers Retire?
But maybe the most important reasons that Baby Boomers don't want to retire are their strong work ethic and their personal identity being tied up in what they do. Steven Rothberg at the CollegeRecruiter.com blog says "The shorthand description that I like to use is that Baby Boomers live to work and Gen Y'ers work to live."

Baby Boomers like to work, and they like to do it their own way as they get older even if they were always an employee when younger. Paul and Sarah Edwards in their book The Best Home Businesses for People 50+ describe several reasons why those over 50 choose to work at home. Two of those reasons are "We want to try something new, stimulating, and challenging," and "We want to spend our second half 'our way,'"

Attempts are being made to keep workers in the traditional workplace in some industries. Among the options likely to grow more common in order to retain our aging population of workers are part-time positions, job sharing, flex-time, consulting arrangements, and extended time off when possible. As baby boomers age these types of arrangements may be beneficial both for maintaining the workforce as well as satisfying the desires of the boomers.

But some Boomers are more independent, and have or are considering striking out on their own. An ever more attractive option for this generation may be to work form home. Online businesses fit in nicely with the boomer lifestyle, too, because they allow a more flexible schedule than running a traditional storefront type business. They can be reasonably successful part time at least initially, and often can be started with relatively low initial investments.

Studies have shown that nearly 72 percent of boomers age 51 to 59 go online, while 54 percent of 60- to 69-year-olds surf the net. So the boomers have mostly embraced the internet, and are much more comfortable with computers than the proceeding generation.

The trend in most age groups is to more self-employed jobs as the economy changes from the old industrial model to a more information based society. The traditional job really is becoming rarer and not just shipped overseas as we are told by the media and our politicians.

Home-Based Businesses as a Solution
But for the Baby Boomer, who is even more likely to be downsized because of age and the perceived lack of modern skills (whether that is true or not), home-based businesses are becoming very attractive. Some are taking a preemptive approach to this and not waiting for the pink slip.

For those who are looking for a business finding your niche is probably the hardest part. In Paul and Sarah Edwards 2004 book mentioned above, the authors discuss many businesses in several categories including "Serving Business Clients," "Helping Individuals and Families" and "Turning Your Hobby into Income." You can find everything form Aromatherapy to Wedding Consultant and Planner there.

A Harris Interactive study found that 62 percent of boomers are concerned they won't be healthy during retirement. Businesses that help them stay healthy, such as health food and nutritional supplement stores (even on-line) or health clubs focusing on low-impact exercises could be in increasing demand.

If you are looking for a home-based business, my advice would be not to overlook the network marketing businesses as well. With the new internet models of attraction marketing to generate leads for your business, good income can be made with very little initial investment, and without even having to talk to friends and family. The business can be very much automated over the internet.

In the early stages of the business when income is very low, you can even use affiliate income as you build your clients. If this sounds difficult and you have no idea where to start, there are several great programs out there to teach you how to do this. And they don't have any connection to a certain networking business. You can choose your own.

You can see a list of my favorite resources for guiding you through the business set-up process by going to my attraction marketing blog. Again, you won't find any recommendations for a network marketing company here, just a list of low-cost resources that can give you step-by-step instructions on setting up a complete business, generating leads to business clients to business associates, that even a computer novice can understand.

There has never been a better time to establish a profitable home-based business than right now. Check it out today; I'm sure you'll be happy you did.

Daryl Ballard is an internet network marketing coach whose passion is teaching others the most effective way to attract leads for their business on-line. Using the New Model of Attraction Marketing he teaches enables you to find leads that already want what you have to offer while generating affiliate income that pays you to generate leads. He strongly recommends the Renegade Network Marketer University for its low cost and simple click-by-click instructions as the best way to reach your dream MLM business, because even a computer novice will follow it easily, so all efforts are easy to duplicate.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Daryl_Ballard

Arthritis in Baby Boomers Needs Strength Training

Carolyn Hansen

Arthritis affects millions of people around the world every year and is the number one source of pain and disability in older people. Health systems are preparing for an epidemic of arthritis cases as the baby boomer generation hovers around age 60. It is estimated that by 2020 twenty percent of the world population will be affected. Arthritis is about to get worse, much worse - and very soon.

If you are anywhere near middle age chances are you already have arthritis - a degenerative disorder in which the cartilage - the hard but slippery cushioning that lines the inside of your joints begins to break down. A joint is a place where two bones meet and healthy cartilage allows the bones to glide over each other. It also allows shock and impact from everyday movement and activities to be absorbed

People who are sedentary and have inactive lifestyles are more prone to developing arthritis. When muscle tone and bodily flexibility are lost, weak muscles increase the risk of everyday injuries and accidents due to their inability to properly protect and cushion joints. Strong muscles around weight bearing joints help support and distribute the pressure and load of body weight and movement.

Although it seems like an old person's disease, this silent devil starts young, often in the 30's, 20s or even younger. As there are no nerve endings in cartilage no pain is felt as it silently advances through the years and decades. But when it finally starts to cause pain, stiffness and loss of range of motion the damage has been done - the deterioration of cartilage is fairly advanced.

As the damage to the cartilage progresses, the pain encourages a person to become more and more sedentary setting off a vicious cycle of pain, inactivity, muscle weakness, more joint damage and more pain.

The bad news is that you can't grow new cartilage to replace the cartilage that has been damaged and worn away. The good news is that you can increase muscle strength and thereby rebuild a critical part of the joint's shock absorber system, supporting and protecting the joint even if it is weak and damaged from arthritis.

Research shows that exercise is one of the best treatments for arthritis. Exercise can improve mood and outlook, decrease pain, increase flexibility, improve the heart and blood flow, maintain weight, and promote general physical fitness. Exercise if done correctly, has few negative side effects unlike painkillers that are often prescribed to people with this condition. There is no pill or treatment to cure arthritis, the best hope is to adopt and learn the exercise skills necessary to manage this condition.

People that have this condition need to examine their attitude about exercise; they often believe that exercise is just for young people or for people that have been athletic all of their lives. Or they believe it will do them more harm than good.

This is definitely incorrect. A proper exercise program that includes 60% strength training exercise cannot only help with this condition, but can actually beat it and can have a profound effect on a person's physical, mental and emotional health.

The biggest barrier to being physically active with arthritis is pain and stiffness. If you can push through this as when the correct exercise is performed pain is decreased, strength, flexibility and overall fitness in increased. By being active and moving your joints, nutrients are absorbed into the cartilage and surrounding tissues keeping them healthy and pain free.

Learn to see your health problem as a reason for exercise rather than as a barrier to exercise. See a fitness professional at your local gym or fitness center to give you the best start possible on the correct exercise program to prevent progression of arthritis and improve quality of life.

Carolyn Hansen has worked in the Fitness Industry for over 30 years. This of course depends on in which country you live and the age at which you can retire. (Currently 65 is the age of eligibility for National Super in New Zealand).

Studies show that compared with their parents at the same age today's baby boomers have higher incomes, a better standard of living and possess greater personal wealth.

This could be about to change however due to the current recession that's affecting many western countries. It may affect the prosperity of those intending to retire during the next 10 years.

With the continual increases in fuel, food and the basic necessities of life, plus predictions of a 22% drop in property values there's little wonder that many people nearing retirement are worried. They have every right to be.

Hopefully they won't but if current predictions run true, that investment property you bought 10 years ago will soon be worth $76,000 less. These figures are based on a valuation of $345,000 in 2007. This example is based on an actual situation that I'm familiar with.

Using the same scenario, your own mid range home worth say $650,000 will decrease in value by $143,000. This makes a grand total of $219000.

It's all very sobering as many of my clients are in similar situations.

Another part of the retirement equation is whether the current levels of benefit are sustainable. The ever increasing numbers that will be clocking out for the last time as from about 2010 onwards suggests otherwise. There are real concerns the current levels cannot be retained.

The most obvious ways to remedy this problem is by either increasing the age at which a person can retire or reducing the level of benefits.

Neither option will be viewed as very palatable especially if you've been contributing all these years and you're now about to throw your hat on the hook.

The research I've undertaken is based on what is expected in the United States, Canada, The United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. This clearly indicates that if you wish to enjoy a comfortable retirement it would be prudent to consider your options now.

Doing so will mean that you shouldn't need to scrimp and chance your luck with the generosity or lack of from the government of the day. The alternatives may result in you reaching 60 or 65 and finding your retirement cupboard is rather bare.

Online affiliate marketing is one way for baby boomers to earn extra money to ensure your retirement is as comfortable as you want it to be ...

Article by Rodney Dunn http://www.affiliatestwo.com/

After 25 years successfully marketing offline, now dedicated to helping others create wealth online.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rodney_Dunn

Careers and Business - Four Goals For Baby Boomers Seeking Flexible Retirement Job Opportunities

Anna D. Labor Market Information (LMI) obtained online or through One-Stop Career Centers, will assist the Baby Boomer to make the right career choices. Furthermore, this knowledge will aid in demonstrating to prospective employers the fact that they can match and support the evolving needs of the company.

The question is what does Baby Boomer or mature worker want and how does he/she can achieve these goals over the next ten years or so. Four goals and strategies for a Baby Boomer or 50+ plus worker may be:

Goal 1. Financial Stability: This is one of the main reasons that influence the decision of baby boomers and 50+ workers to continue working after 65.

Strategy 1. Mature workers will have to look for retirement jobs that will enable them to cover all their obligations. It is a good idea to speak to colleagues, various professional organizations, and recruiters, and research online about their current market va
